About me

Thank you for visiting my personal blog!!!

My childhood memories while living in the countryside of Korinthos in Greece and adoring the dark night sky filled with glittering stars have remained with me to this day and I have no reason to believe they will ever disappear.

Upon graduation from high school, I decided to study physics at the university level in order to broaden and deepen my knowledge of the rich celestial objects overhead. To this end, my university courses of choice were specialized in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics and cosmology. Following graduation, I actively pursued the amateur astronomy route while continuing my graduate studies in computer science and which eventually led to graduation with a Master's degree. All of this was accomplished while working in the telecommunications industry in Athens as a software engineer.

My success in professional life has allowed me to invest in middle range astronomical equipment to further enhance my participation and appreciation of the night sky with a recent emphasis in astrophotography so as to capture some of our celestial wonders. This website documents these efforts which I hope to share with you along with technical details you may find of interest and use.

I hope you enjoy this website.

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal.

from Childe Harold, Canto iv, Verse 178
Lord George Gordon Byron
